Band Director / Chief Piping Instructor

The Chief Piping Instructor is Jeff Brewer.  Most recently a member of the Abbotsford Police Pipe Band, he was a founding member of the Blue Heron Bay and Willamette Valley pipe bands, and has served as Pipe Major of the Clan Macleay and Willamette Valley bands.  Jeff is ably assisted with SJMPB instruction by Associate Piping Instructors Robbi Brewer, Dan DelMain, Travis Dutton, and Bill Farr.

Chief Drumming Instructor

The Chief Drumming Instructor is Jacquie Troy.  Jacquie brings years of pipe band experience to her role with the Sir James McDonald Pipe Band.  Jacquie has played with several grade one bands in Canada, including the Abbotsford Police Pipe Band, the Peel Regional Police Pipe Band, the 78th Fraser Pipe Band of Toronto, and most recently, the Alberta Caledonia Pipe Band.

Jacquie is a recognized expert in the entire range of percussion instruments peculiar to a pipe band.  She is also a renowned instructor, active and successful competitor, and a published author of articles on proper technique and approach to teaching bass and tenor drumming in pipe bands.
