To Contribute to the Band

Here are some ways to make your contribution to the Sir James McDonald Pipe Band:

Give a cash gift to the band.  Contributions in any amount are welcome.  Please mail your check, payable to Sir James McDonald Pipe Band, to the address below.  For your convenience, you may access a donor form in Adobe Acrobat PDF file format.  Once they make a donation, Oregonians are eligible to make a matching gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust and receive a 100% tax credit for their contribution.

Take advantage of your employer's corporate matching gift program.  Many companies match their employees' and retirees' donations to nonprofit organizations.  Ask your human resources office if your employer will match your generosity and then send us the company's gift matching form.

Underwrite a special need for the band.  Ask about our Needs List for a way to direct your cash or in-kind gift for a particular need.  This may be a uniform item, an instrument, reeds, a scholarship endowment, a promotional banner, printing or some other specific need.

Donate your used car, truck, motorcycle, RV, boat, trailer or farm equipment to the band.  Through a cooperative arrangement with Volunteers of America, the band receives a substantial portion of the proceeds when your donated vehicle is sold.  Contact us for the necessary document, or download the Vehicle Intake Fax Form as either an MS Word file or Adobe Acrobat PDF file.

Hire the band for your event.  Paid performances provide valuable playing experience and the opportunity for fee revenue.  The band has been featured in community festivals, school activities, church services, cultural diversity programs, parades, commencement ceremonies, memorial services, company meetings, private parties and in many other settings.  Presentations suitable for just about any venue can be developed.

Share the band with young people.  If you know a boy or girl who loves music and is interested in the bagpipe or pipe band drumming, introduce us!  Arrange for a visit to a band rehearsal, attend a performance or schedule a free introductory lesson.  Beginners between the age of 8 and 14 are always welcome.  They are the future of Scottish pipe band music in the Pacific Northwest.

The Sir James McDonald Pipe Band is recognized as a non-profit organization
authorized to receive tax-deductible contributions as allowed by law.
